Math Mentors

Sixth-grade students in teacher Leonard Boehm's class at Detroit's Thurgood Marshall Elementary School are taking advanced math classes through a partnership with Wayne State University's mathematics pipeline. The purpose of the program is to ignite urban students' interest in math at a young age. The skills are then cultivated throughout their college years.
